Effect Description
Character Creation
Every Major Character starts with one Personality Gift. A Personality is a one-word description of a major personality trait of the character.
X (Respite)
Trigger: any roll you make
You have a strong personality – so strong, in fact, that it helps you to get stuff done.
After any die roll that you make, you may exhaust this gift to claim a bonus d12 – if the roll is somehow relevant to your Personality. For example, if your Personality is Envious, you might claim a bonus to steal something away from someone. If your Personality is Wrathful, you might claim a bonus to strike someone in combat
The Game Host is the final judge over whether a roll is relevant to your character’s personality. The Host is encouraged to be generous about letting a character use a Personality Gift in a defensive manner. (For example, the Game Host is encouraged to allow a Player to use their Personality Bonus die as an extra Soak die if it might prevent the character’s death).
Character Development
During the character development phase, you may change one Personality choice to a different choice, at no cost. For example, you may change “Envious” to “Wrathful”. As usual, the Game Host must approve any character developments.
