Description
Methodically going through someone’s pockets, or their room, or a large area is covered by the Searching skill. Unlike passive Observation, the Searching skill means poking, prodding, digging, and generally turning things inside-out.
A quick pat-down of a restrained, unresisting target is a roll of Mind & Searching dice vs. the target's Body & Deceit dice.
Take six seconds to roll Mind & Searching dice to search an area no bigger than 1 pace across. (Searching in combat, this way, is a dangerous stunt.) The Game Host should assign a difficulty based on whether you know what you're looking for, how concealable the object is, etc. A rival may add their Mind & Deceit dice as additional difficulty.
Take one minute to roll Body, Speed, Mind, and Searching to ransack a 4-pace by 4-pace room (and making a loud noise in the process). The Game Host should assign difficulty, as above.
Take four hours to forage for food in the wilderness, rolling your Mind & Searching dice vs. a difficulty determined by the region and by your current circumstances.
You can follow footprints or any kind of tracks, rolling your Mind & Searching. See "Tracking"
