Description

Hippopotamoi claim descendance from Taweret, the hippopotamus god of the Lower Sultanate who presides over childbirth and fertility. Her cult train as midwives and broodmothers, experienced in caring for the reproduction of not only hippopotamoi, but also other species; the Sethid pharaohs employed hippo midwives of Taweret to help care for their eggs. Hippos are slow to anger, but when they lose their tempers, they are fearsome in battle, and especially in defense of their families and those they have sworn to protect.
