Description
Volumes have been written about lions, usually by other lions; usually by other male lions. They make profoundly excellent authors, charming, witty, insightful, and no more so than when describing the leonine condition. They also shine in occupations which reward the exuberant personality; like positions of civic leadership or public address. While not always involved in aristocracy, it is not at all uncommon to find lions at middling levels of local power; as mayors, important merchants, or perhaps a low baron here and there. They tend to progress further in clerical life though hampered by the occasional need for monastic humility.
Lionesses are as hardnosed about family as they are about business. The mutuality of romantic courtship doesn't hold much attraction for the navel-gazing male, and lionesses typically have better things to do. It is a common complaint by lionesses that finding a good man is difficult; ironically, the average lioness is the one creature immune to the glamour of even the most radiant lion.
