Description
Voles and mice share many of the same traits, though it could be said that voles get the shorter end of an already short stick. They are physically more stout than mice, stubbier all over, with hardly a tail to speak of.
Vole families are typically matriarchal, with large extended families often living together under one roof or as close neighbours. Whereas mice might be active crusaders and participants in worldly struggle, voles tend to take a more monastic approach; no less involved in matters of faith, but just more sedentary about it. Voles will build abbeys and orphanages, soup kitchens and seminaries, instead of venturing out on holy wars or bothering with converting the world. They tend to be the clerics, and not the paladins or missionaries.
